Bronx, NY – The Lehman College basketball teams will travel to Brooklyn tonight to take on the Cougars of Medgar Evers College. The night starts with the women's contest at 6:00 pm followed by the men's teams.
The Lehman women, winners of their last four own a 7-7 mark overall and a 5-2 record in CUNYAC. In their most recent victory, a 69-60 over Hunter the Lightning used a 14-0 run to start the fourth quarter to take a lead they would not surrender.
Amely Del Rosario led the way with 22 points.
Krystal Pearson and
Lynda Fields chipped in17 and 16 points respectively.
The Medgar Evers (1-13:1-6) women earned their first victory of the season earlier this week with a 60-51 victory over John Jay. Elesha Dieudonne is the only player on the squad averaging double figures (18.1).
The Lehman men are 7-7 overall and 4-3 in the conference. In their last outing, the Lightning defeated Hunter 79-57.
Luis Hernandez came off the bench to pace Lehman with 17 points.
Jean Marcial and
Mylo Mitchell added 16 and 11 points respectively.
Andrew Utate continues to lead lehman in scoring with just over 13 points per contest,
The Cougars stand at 3-9 overall and 2-5 in CUNYAC. Medgar Evers is riding a three game skid in which they dropped all three conference games at home. Maurice Swaby leads the squad with a 20 points per game average.
