Bronx, NY – The Lehman College men's and women's basketball teams will host John Jay on Saturday afternoon as they also welcome alumni back to campus. The Lightning women will take to the floor at noon to battle the Bloodhounds. At the conclusion of the women's game the Alumni will take the court to show off their skills. That will be followed by the men's game featuring Lehman and John Jay.
The Lightning (11-8:9-2) women got back to their winning ways as they cruised to victory over York.
Amely Del Rosario led the way for the Lightning with 24 points.
Marika Gordon posted her fourth double double of the season with 17 points and 11 rebounds. The Lady Bloodhounds have struggled this season. John Jay enters the game with a record of 2-18:1-10. Earlier this season the lightning went into the Doghouse and handed the Bloodhounds an 84-45 setback. Del Rosario paced the Lightning with 29 points.
Krystal Pearson added 21 points and a season high 16 rebounds.
The Lightning (11-8:7-4) men have now won three straight after an 86-71 victory Wednesday night over York. Five players tallied double figures for the Lightning.

Luis Hernandez led the way with 16 points apiece. Lehman is in the midst of a seven game home stand. Back in December the Lightning defeated the Bloodhounds 87-77.
Andrew Utate paced Lehman with a season high 30 points. The Bloodhounds come into the APEX with a record of 6-12 overall and 5-6 in the CUNYAC. In their most recent outing the defeated CCNY 72-54. Essien Epps led the charge with 17 points.

The track and field teams continue their tour of New England with a stop in Springfield, MA to participate in the Massasoit Classic hosted by Springfield College. The squads continue to improve under the tutelage of first year Head Coach
Hugh Reid.
The men's team swept the weekly CUNYAC awards with
Darian Livingston being named the Performer of the Week,
Lloyd Richards the Rookie of the Week and
James Oliver the Field Performer of the Week.
On the women's side
Djeneba Traore also earned the CUNYAC Field Performer of the Week while
Patricia Novelli set a personal best in the 3K which qualified her for the CUNYAC Championships. .
