Box Score Staten Island, NY – The Lehman (15-9:10-5) men's basketball fell to the College of Staten Island 78-76.  The Lightning loss snaps a seven game winning streak.  The Dolphins improve to (19-6:16-0) and will be the number one seed in the upcoming CUNYAC Tournament. 

Lehman had  the ball down three in the closing seconds.  The Dolphins chose to commit a foul that sent Mylo Mitchel to the line.  The junior drained the first and missed the second on purpose.  Damian Bellamy was able to snatch the rebound but could not get the put back to fall as the buzzer sounded. 

The Dolphins led by as many as 15 points in the first.  A Jean Marcial three-pointer in the final seconds of the half brought the lead down to 40-32. A 17-8 run by the Lightning the first five minutes of the second half gave Lehman a lead they had not had since the opening possession of the game.   However the Dolphins answered with a run of their own.  With the Lightning leading 51-50, CSI outscored Lehman 16-5 to take a 66-56 lead with 10:34 to play.  Lehman was able to battle back and tie the game at 73 with just over three minutes to play.  The Lightning had three chances in the final two minutes to tie or take the lead but could not take the lead. 

Lehman was led by Luis Hernandez.  The junior scored 27 points while grabbing nine rebounds.  Mitchell added 16 points and eight rebounds while Marcial tallied 13 points. 

Frank Schettino paced the Dolphins with 32 points while playing the entire 40 minutes. 

Lehman will conclude the regular season on Monday night as they travel to Hunter.  Game time scheduled for 8:00 pm.
