Box Score La Plume, PA - The Lightning used a balanced scoring attack led by Isaiah Geathers 18 points to improve to 2-2 with a 74-65 over Keystone College (0-4) spoiling the Giants home opener.
The Lightning jumped out to a 7-1 lead as Xavier Boyd scored five of Lehman's first seven points. A traditional three-point play by Fred Truss with 4:45 remaining in first half gave the Lightning their biggest lead of the half (29-19). However, the Giants battled back cutting the deficit to 33-31 at halftime.
Three and a half minutes into the second half the Giants knotted the game 37. However the Lightning would then use an 8-0 run (six points by Geathers) to give Lehman a 45-37 advantage with 14:23 to play. The Giants battled back and took a 56-55 lead with 7:43 remaining after a three point play by Ray Mills. The game went back and forth over the next couple of minutes until Boyd drained a pair of free throws with 5:40 remaining to give Lehman the lead for good. The foul shots began a 17-7 Lightning run to closeout the game.
Boyd and Miguel Haboosh added 13 points apiece and Will Feldman netted 10. Mills led Keystone with 16 points.
The Lightning return to action on Saturday afternoon as they open up CUNYAC play at John Jay.
