Bronx, N.Y. – Both of Lehman College basketball teams will be in action this Friday hosting the 12
th annual Coaches vs. Cancer tournaments at The APEX Main Gym as women's side take on Trinity College-Conn. at 2 pm, while the men face-off against Stevenson University at 6 pm.
Admission to either day's event at The APEX is $10, with children under the age of 13 admitted for $ 5. Also, Lehman students with a valid ID are free. All proceeds from the two-day event will go to the American Cancer Society.

Lehman women (1-7) is aiming to win this annual event after reaching the finals four of the last five years. The Lightning are coming off a loss (98-31) to visiting Old Westbury on December 11

Prior to Lehman-Trinity encounter, the Coaches vs. Cancer women's semifinal tournament bracket commences at noon on Friday with DeSales University (8-2) taking on University of Wisconsin-Platteville (5-4). The semifinal winners will meet for the championship at The APEX on Saturday at 1 pm, with the third place consolation game taking place prior at 11 am.
Lehman men's hoopsters (4-4) enter this annual event having reached the last four consecutive finals. The last time Lightning lifted the tournament trophy was in 2014 by defeating Maine Maritime Academy, 80-54.
Lehman, which has won two of its last three games coming into the event, dropped an 84-73 encounter at Sarah Lawrence College on Dec. 9
th. Guard
Jaquan Strong came off the bench to lead the Lightning with 18 points in the loss.
Lehman's opponent on Friday is Steven University (8-2), as the Mustangs are coming off a 77-60 win at Goucher College on Dec. 18
th.
Friday evening's encounter will be the first meeting between Lightning-Mustangs since January 3, 2011, as hosts posted a 95-89 overtime victory in Owings Mills, Md.
Before the Lehman-Stevenson encounter on Friday, men's semifinal bracket tip-off at 4 pm with Old Westburgy (3-4) squaring off against Manhattanville College (4-6). The tournament concludes Saturday with the consolation game and championship match set for 3 pm and 6 pm, respectively.
