Men's Basketball

A Busy Saturday Awaits Lehman Student Athletes

The Lehman College men's and momen's Indoor Track, Basketball and Swimming teams will all be in action this afternoon. The track teams travel to Lancaster, PA to participate in the Coach I Open, the basketball teams will travel to Manhattan to face Baruch and the swimming teams will host the Pioneers of William Paterson.

The women's basketball squad tips off against Baruch at 12 PM.  Lehman has struggled offensively this season and now owns a 1-3:1-5 record.  In the most recent outing the Lightning fell to CSI.  The Lady Bearcats stand at 3-8:2-4.  This past Wednesday night Baruch fell to Brooklyn College.  Fans unable to make the trip to Baruch can follow all of the action on line via live stats and live stream.

The Lightning men will also face the Bearcats.  Tip-off is slated for 4 PM.  Prior to the game Baruch will honor former head coach and Lehman College graduate and Hall of Famer Ray Rankis.  Rankis passed away this past summer.  Baruch sits atop the CUNYAC standings with a perfect 6-0 record in conference games and a 12-3 mark overall.  Lehman looks to snap the Baruch five game winning streak.  The Lightning dropped their most recent contest, 84-79 to Staten Island.  Lehman now sits at 5-8 overall and 2-2 in conference play.  Fans unable to make the trip to Baruch can follow all of the action on line via live stats and live stream.

The men's and women's swimming teams will host William Paterson at 12 PM in the APEX Pool.  In their last outing the Lightning dropped both the men's and women's meet against Baruch to start the New Year.  The Pioneers have not competed in more than a month.  Last year William Paterson defeated both the Lehman men and women.

The Lehman indoor track teams will also be in action.  It is only their second meet of the 2018-19 campaign.  The Lightning opened the indoor track season at the Crowell Open hosted by the US Military Academy back on December 1.  Today the Lightning travel to Lancaster, PA to participate in the Coach I  Open hosted by Franklin and Marshall.  Action from the Alumni Sports and Fitness Center gets under way at 10 AM.
