Bronx, N.Y. – After playing its first five matches on the road, the Lehman College men's volleyball team will have its home opener on Tuesday when it takes on visiting New Jersey City University (NJCU) in a non-conference affair in The APEX Main Gym at 7 pm. The Lightning hold a 1-4 overall record, while the Gothic Knights have a 1-2 mark.

Lehman is coming off a split of twin-bill at St. David, Pa. over the weekend as it dropped three-set match (25-13, 26-20, 25-12) to hosts Eastern University, then rebounded to post its first victory of season, winning three straight games (25-14, 25-22, 25-15) over Immaculata University. OH –
Will Eschenbach led Lehman with 12 kills, 13 digs and two aces in the victory over Immaculata.
Meanwhile, NJCU comes to The APEX after dropping consecutive 3-0 matches at Reading, Pa. last Saturday. Gothic Knights lost (25-21, 25-7, 25-9) to Lancaster Bible College in the opener, then were beaten (25-21, 25-16, 25-22) by hosts Alvernia University.
Lehman-NJCU have faced off 16 times since 2008 with Gothic Knights winning 13 encounters. The Lightning however, have won two of the last three matches.
The previous meeting between the teams was on April 7, 2018 in Troy, N.Y. with NJCU winning in five sets (12-25, 25-23, 25-23, 20-25, 15-13). MB –

The last time Lehman defeated NJCU at The APEX was on January 30, 2017, 3-1 (25-18, 25-12, 13-25, 25-17).
