Lightning Hoopsters Hosts Brooklyn In CUNYAC Doubleheader On Tuesday

Bronx, N.Y. – Both Lehman College basketball teams hosts Brooklyn College in a CUNYAC Doubleheader, on Tuesday, at The APEX Main Gym, with the women's squads meeting at 5 pm, while the men's sides facing off at 7 pm.

The Lightning women (1-19; 1-9 CUNYAC) are coming off a 58-16 conference loss at York College-NY last Friday (January 31st).  Guard Fatomata Trawalleh scored 12 points, with four steals and three rebounds for Lehman.  Also last Friday, the Bulldogs (14-5; 9-0 CUNYAC) posted an 82-42 victory against visiting Hunter College in conference encounter at Brooklyn's West Quad Gymnasium.
 
Brooklyn has a 17-9 head-to-head record against Lehman since 2007, which includes six out of the last seven encounters.  The previous match-up between the two sides took place last month (Jan. 8th) at West Quad Gymnasium with the Bulldogs winning 90-39.  Forward Nina Gill led the Lightning with 20 points, six rebounds and five steals.
 
Also, on Tuesday at The APEX, the Lightning men (11-9; 6-4 CUNYAC) will aim to snap their two-game losing skid and get back the winning track when they square off against the Bulldogs (9-10; 6-3 CUNYAC).
 
Lehman is coming off a heartbreaking 66-62 conference loss at York-NY last Friday.  Forward Isaiah Geathers paced the Lightning with 16 points and six rebounds.
 
Meanwhile, the Bulldogs also dropped a close CUNYAC encounter last Friday when they lost 60-58 to visiting Hunter at West Quad Gymnasium.
 
The Bulldogs have a slim 12-11 advantage in the head-to-head series against the Lightning since 2007, however Lehman has won six of the last seven games.  The previous encounter between the two squads was held at West Quad Gymnasium last month (Jan. 8th) with the Lightning posting a 72-55 road victory.  Geathers had his third 'double-double' of the season scoring 18 points and grabbing 12 boards.
