The Lightning (4-5; 0-0 CUNYAC) are coming off consecutive three set losses to non-conference opponents Drew University and Neumann University at The APEX Main Gym over the weekend.
Lehman first dropped a decision (16-25, 20-25, 18-25) to Drew Rangers, as
Miguel Gonzalez led the way for the hosts with 13 kills, while
Ray Rodriguez added eight kills and 10 digs.
The Lightning then lost the second match of the day (26-28, 24-26, 20-25) to the Neunmann Knights. Gonzalez once again paced the Lehman offense with 13 kills and eight digs, while Rodriguez posted a 'double-double' with 12 kills and 15 digs.
Meanwhile, the CCNY Beavers (5-1; 1-0 CUNYAC) posted a three-set (25-18, 25-18, 25-23) victory against hosts St. Joseph's College-NY in a non-conference affair last Friday (February 25
th) at The Hill Center in Brooklyn.
CCNY holds a slim 11-9 lead in the head-to-head meetings against Lehman since 2009. The last encounter between the two sides took place earlier this month (Feb. 18
th) as the Beavers defeated the Lightning in a five-set thriller (11-25, 25-19, 21-25, 25-22, 15-13), in a non-conference match, at The APEX. Three Lehman players posted 'double-double' figures as Gonzalez had 14 kills and 16 digs, while Rodriguez notched 10 kills with 17 dig, and
Christian Agudo dished out 22 assists, while grabbing 10 digs.
