Box Score 2 New York, N..Y. – The Lehman College men's volleyball team earned a split of a tri-match at John Jay College as it dropped a three-set (5-25, 23-25, 17-25) CUNYAC encounter to hosts, before then posting a 3-1 triumph against non-conference opponent College of Mount St. Vincent on Saturday at The Doghouse.
After dropping the first set 25-5, the Lightning (4-5; 1-2 CUNYAC) took an 11-3 lead in the second game. However, the John Jay Bloodhounds (6-5; 1-1 CUNYAC) went on a 22 to 12 run to take second set. The hosts then claimed the match with the victory in the third.
Christopher Gil led the way for Lehman with four kills, while
Christian Agudo had three kills and nine assists.
In the second match of the day, Mount St. Vincent Dolphins (3-8) took the second set after the Lightning claimed the first. However, Lehman posted back-to-back triumphs in the third and fourth sets, respectively for the victory.
Three Lightning players had 'double-double' against the Dolphins as
Ray Rodriguez posted 14 kills and 23 digs;
Miguel Gonzalez had 10 kills and 22 digs, while Agudo dished out 29 assists and 14 digs.
Lehman returns to action next Tuesday (February 28
th) when it hosts Brooklyn College in a CUNYAC match-up at The APEX Main Gym with first serve set for 6 pm ET.
