Men’s Basketball Lose Heartbreaker At CCNY

Box Score New York, N.Y. – A 21-point performance from forward Kai Parris wasn't enough as the Lehman College men's basketball dropped a heartbreaking 63-61 CUNYAC encounter against hosts CCNY at Nat Holman Gymnasium on Tuesday evening.  The Lightning go a 10-8 overall record and 6-2 in CUNYAC action, while the Beavers improved to a 12-7 mark and 5-3 in conference play.

After Lehman took a one-point lead at the intermission (35-34), CCNY came back in the second stanza and went on a 26 to 19 run to take a six-point advantage (60-54) with three minutes remaining. The Lightning stage their own come back with a 7 to 2 run to cut the Beavers' lead to 62-61 with 47 seconds left in the game.  

After CCNY's Edward Beqiri hit one of two free-throws to make in a two-point advantage, Lehman guard Jayden Stephens' missed the possible game-winning three-pointer before time expired.

Stephens and forward Francisco Demers each added nine points for the Lightning.

Lehman will look to get back on the winning track on Friday (January 26th)  with another CUNYAC encounter as it welcomes Brooklyn College to The APEX Main Gym with tip-off set for 5 pm ET.
