Heaven Figueroa and Isabela Araujo were named CUNYAC Player and Rookie of the Week for the week ending January 11, 2026.

The duo led the Lightning to a 2-1 week with a pair of conference road victories over Medgar Evers and City College. 

Figueroa, a graduate student from Brooklyn, averaged 19.7 points and 5.7 rebounds this past week.  She was also credited with 18 assists, 4 blocks and 23 steals.  She currently leads the conference in assist/turnover ratio (1.8), ranks second in scoring and steals. 
 
Araujo, a freshman from the Bronx, averaged 14.3 points and 4.3 rebounds in the three games.  She was also credited with 6 assists and 7 steals.  It is the sixth time this season that Araujo has been named CUNYAC Rookie of the Week. 
 
The duo along with their team mates are back in action on Wednesday and Friday evening at the APEX.  Lehman will face York on January 14 at5:00 pm and again on Friday at 7:00 PM against Hunter.  Fans unable to make the trip to the Bronx can follow all of the action on line via a free live stream and live stats.
