Hecnel Guzman was named CUNYAC Player of the Week and DeShawn Ansah-Pena was named CUNYAC Rookie of the Week for the week ending April 5, 2026.
 
Guzman led the Lightning to a 2-1 week with sweep of CUNYAC rival John Jay.  In three games, the junior batted 300 and belted three home runs.  He registered six RBI.
 
In his collegiate debut, Ansah-Pena on Friday, pitched a complete game against John Jay, earning his first and the Lightning's first victory of the season.  He struck out six and surrendered seven earned runs, scattering 11 hits.
 
The duo and their teammates will be back in action on Tuesday afternoon on the South Field as the Lightning play host to Purchase College.  First pitch is slated for 3:30 PM.
