Men’s Basketball and Swimming Set to Take on Maritime


After regrouping from the Thanksgiving break the Lehman College men's basketball team will host New York Maritime tonight in the APEX for a non-conference battle tipping off at 7:00 PM.   The Lehman swimming teams will also battle Maritime in the APEX pool beginning at 6:00 PM. 

In their last time out the Lightning downed John Jay 94-85 in the CUNYAC opener.  John Brens led the way with 21 points as all five starters tallied double digits.  Lehman, winners of their last two contests, now stands at 3-2 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

The Privateers (0-4) come into tonight's looking for their first win of the season.  In their last outing, Maritime fell 68-61 to Vassar.

The Lehman men's and women's swim teams will also battle the Privateers.  The men's squad stands at 3-0 after downing Old Westbury 104-75 last week.  The Lightning were led by Anthony Preda and Joshua Teves.  Preda was the CUNYAC Performer of the Week.  He was a double winner, taking the top spot in the 100-fly (54.70) by 22 seconds and the 1,000-free (11:50.76).  Teves was named CUNYAC Diver of the Week.  He won the one-meter diving event with a total of 199.05 points.

The women's squad stands at 2-1 after narrowly escaping Old Westbury with a 104-96 victory. 

Action in the APEX pool will begin at 6:00 PM.
