Bronx, N.Y. – Six Lehman College athletics (three men's, three women's) teams will be in action on Friday as indoor track and field squads travel to Lancaster Pa. for an invitational meet; while the hoopsters visits York College-NY in a CUNYAC twin-bill; swimming & diving squads will hosts the annual CUNYAC Championships.
Swimmers/Divers Stage CUNYAC Championships
The APEX swimming pool will once again stage the annual three-day CUNAYC Championships which commence on Friday at 4:30 pm. The Lightning, under head coach
Peter Kiernan, are aiming to improve their performance from the previous CUNYAC event as both men and women finished fourth. The last time Lehman captured a CUNYAC title was the men's side doing so in 2013.
Leading the way for Lightning men will be
Anton Kyrylenko who has been a mainstay this season in the 50 and 100 Breaststroke events.
The Lehman women's side is led by last year's CUNYAC Championships MVP,
Sarina Eshtiaghi, who claimed three gold medals at last year's conference event, while setting new meet (and Lehman) record in 200 Backstroke (2:12.17). This season Eshtiaghi has won all her individual races for the Lightning.
Indoor Track/Field Sides Head To Pa. For Little Dip Invitational
For a second consecutive season, both Lehman's indoor track and field stars will travel to Lancaster, Pa. to compete at Little Dip Invitational, hosted by Franklin & Marshall College, with the first event set for Friday at 4:30 pm.
The last time the Lightning took part at the invitational was on January 26, 2019 as Lehman sides finished in the top 20 in 19 total events.
Max Dell-Thibodeau was 12
th in the Men's 3000 Meter Run (10:03.13), while
Victory Ike took top six in five women's events: runner-up in the 300 Meter Dash (43.99); third in the 500 Meter Dash (1:24.47); fourth place in 60 (8.35), 200 Meter Dashes (27.93); and sixth in Long Jump (4.75m).
Hoopsters Visit York-NY
Both Lightning Hoopsers will visit York-NY in a CUNYAC twin-bill, on Friday, at York College Gymnasium with the women's side facing off at 5:30 pm, while the men's squads meet at 7:30 pm.

Lehman women (1-18; 1-8 CUNYAC) are coming off a 75-44 conference loss at John Jay College on Tuesday (January 28
th). Guard
Fatomata Trawalleh had a 'double-double' with a career-highs 29 points and 10 rebounds for the Lightning. Also on Tuesday, the Cardinals (6-12; 3-6 CUNYAC) dropped a 78-55 conference game at Hunter College.
The Lightning women have an 18-4 head-to-head record against the Cardinals since 2007. However, York-NY has won the last three encounters. The previous match-up between the two sides took place on December 6, 2019, with the Cardinals posting a 65-32 win at The APEX Main Gym. Forward
Nina Gill led the Lightning with 16 points and five rebounds.
Also on Friday at York-NY, the Lightning men (11-8; 6-3 CUNYAC) face the Cardinals (6-13; 2-7 CUNYAC).

Isaiah Geathers matched his career-best with 30 points, while guard
Gian Batista recorded his seventh 'double-double' of the season scoring 23 points and dishing out 10 assists. Meanwhile, the Cardinals lost a 75-52 conference road encounter to Hunter also on Tuesday.
York-NY has a 15-8 edge in the head-to-head series against Lehman since 2007, however the Lightning have won three of the last four meetings. In the previous match-up between the two sides held on Dec. 6, 2019, at The APEX, Lehman won 91-64. Forward
